Italy is taking important steps to support digital innovation in the financial sector. With the approval of the Fintech Decree, the country aims to provide a modern and flexible regulatory framework for financial and insurance technology services.

The Fintech Decree is a regulatory measure designed to provide clear rules and effective tools for the experimentation and development of digital services and products in the financial and insurance sectors.

At the heart of this new legislation is the so-called Regulatory Sandbox, a controlled environment where companies and startups can test innovative solutions with the assistance and supervision of key regulatory authorities (Bank of Italy, Consob, IVASS).
